Competing with Reliance Jio’s data rates in the Indian telecom sector, Airtel has decided to upgrade many prepaid packs. These prepaid packs are Rs. 509, Rs. 448 and Rs. 199 prepaid packs. Airtel will offer now 1.4 GB data on a daily basis for these prepaid packs. This is 40% more data compared to the previous 1GB per day offers. Besides the increase in daily data limit, Airtel will continue to provide other benefits. These benefits are unlimited voice call. Also benefit of 100 SMS/day will be continued. Validity period of 28 days is available on Rs. 199 pack, and on Rs. 448 days pack it is 82 days and on Rs. 509 pack it is 90 days.
These prepaid packs from Airtel are designed to take on Reliance Jio and offer daily data of up to 1.4GB. The Rs. 199 pack is designed to take on Reliance Jio’s Rs. 198 pack that offers 1.5GB data per day, 100 SMS/day along with limitless voice calls that too with a validity of 28 days.
Rs. 448 pack by Reliance Jio also offers 1.5GB data daily and has a validity period of 84 days. The Rs. 498 prepaid pack by Reliance Jio offers 1.5GB data on a daily basis and has a validity period of 91 days.
The Airtel has increased the data availability of the new pack. Now, The Rs.349 pack will offer 2.5GB data daily, earlier it was offering only 2GB data per day.
The Airtel has updated their website showing these new offers, but it is surprising that these plans are not updated on My Airtel app. Also there is no official statement from the Airtel in this regard.
This move came immediately after updating its Rs. 149 pack to offer its customers unlimited roaming calls. Airtel also revised its Rs. 399 pack which has a validity of 84 days to offer 1 GB data on daily basis. However, this offer is available to selected customers only.
